People skills and the game of backgammon

By playing a simple board game like backgammon friendships can easily be forged starting from the premises that the two players respect each other. No matter their background, each individual is equal to their opponent whenever they are challenged on a simple game of backgammon.

There are a wide variety of games that come with a lot of historical baggage but none of them actually compares to the classical backgammon board game. Although this is one of the oldest games in history, dating since before 3000 B.C, it has still managed to play a vital part in our social lives even in present days.

Unlike other games, the backgammon game is a two player game that focuses onto establishing a winner upon the removal of the pieces from the board by using a set of dice. The rules are as simple as they get and even children are more than able to easily follow them through. Perhaps it is because of the comfort offered by the simplicity of the rules what makes the game so addicting and at the same time this could also be the main reason why it has survived for more than five thousand years without suffering to many changes.

Either way, the backgammon game can be considered a social game because it can serve as a perfect launch platform for bonding relationships built on respect and friendship. Whenever there is a backgammon board involved there is a high probability that no matter the religion, nationality of social rank, the two people playing the game are equal to each other from every aspect that involves the game. From the first time the dice roll, each of them has the same chance of winning the game as their opponent.

There have been cases where the two players spoke totally different languages and still they’ve managed to play the game to the end. Using body language and a fair amount of people skills they wore able to play the game to its full potential and at the end of it still be able to salute on another and congratulate themselves for the outstanding performance. This goes to prove that this is a type of game that people all across the world can easily play even though they have nothing in common.

It is because of this game that long lasting friendships have been forged and driven the two players to learn more and more about their opponents. Weather the game is an excuse to get people together or a simple way of having fun, the fact remains that the two players that face each other will share an experience that may or may not change their life from that point on.
